Local Elite

Running Accomplishments:

I ran a 17:58 5k, and my first and only 10k was 8 minute paced.

NEW 10K: 36:55

NEW 5K: 17:27

FIRST HALF: 1:23:41

I also became a distance runner in one cross country season, rather than be a ... sprinter *shudders*

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to break 17 minute 5k, and if I can ... get really close to 16 to get me fast enough to possibly do college

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to run, and be able to run for life...

Some day I'll run a marathon, but I feel more partial to the Half right now ... It just seems like a better race to me.

Maybe if I run another half I will feel better 'cause I know what I am going up against.

Personal:

I love to run, and I am a graduated Senior moving on to college, not running on their team.  I didn't run cross country my freshman year ... (it makes me cry sometimes, what a mistake!) But now I wouldn't mind having cross country 24/7/365

Total Distance
23.00

RACE: 0 warmup on this race, cause a bus broke down, so the race started late.  First half was golden, all down hill.  Then the rolling hills came and I started to feel the pain.  The entire race I kept sight of Natalie, hoping for come back of the year part 2, but every time I got iclose there was a down hill and might I she is way better at down hills than I am.  I crashed hard after mile 10, slowed waaaay down.  Last 400 meters someone was approaching me, after Bill had already passed me, and I decided to not let him pass me, and I have to say sorry to him, he was 2nd in my age division.

Then 5 mile cooldown from you most definately know where.  Oh how I hated it.  Bill wants me to run 5 more ... I dunno.  I probably will

But anyways first half marathon ever at 6:23 pace doesn't seem to bad...

PM: 5 miles, my calves don't hurt anymore. It felt awesome, Bill was right.

Nice race. Fine time!

Five miles exceeds the definition of a "cool down". I would call that another workout. You East folks are hard core!
