Running Accomplishments:

I ran a 17:58 5k, and my first and only 10k was 8 minute paced.

NEW 10K: 36:55

NEW 5K: 17:27

FIRST HALF: 1:23:41

I also became a distance runner in one cross country season, rather than be a ... sprinter *shudders*

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to break 17 minute 5k, and if I can ... get really close to 16 to get me fast enough to possibly do college

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to run, and be able to run for life...

Some day I'll run a marathon, but I feel more partial to the Half right now ... It just seems like a better race to me.

Maybe if I run another half I will feel better 'cause I know what I am going up against.

Personal:

I love to run, and I am a graduated Senior moving on to college, not running on their team.  I didn't run cross country my freshman year ... (it makes me cry sometimes, what a mistake!) But now I wouldn't mind having cross country 24/7/365

Good day for running today.

I ran a mile warm-up with Mike, where we had to help find people.  then the race:

First mile, I was conscious of going out to fast, because that's what killed this race for me last year.  I ended up racing Sus and Em the first mile.  I felt pretty good so I stuck with them.  Second mile, We had already passed a few groups, and I noticed a couple of guys that I thought were in my age group so I tried to stick with them as well.  It then became a  race between Me, Em, Sus, and the two guys from my age group. Third mile, I was running and the two guys started to pull away, it pulled me in front of Em, and Sus behind her.  They did break away and I was pushing myself off of Em.  Running up the hill I could see the Guys from my age group, so I ran for them ... I never made it to them, but I did get to the end a little easier.  The kick I did not want to do fast, but Em came right back on me, so I pushed myself and finished just barely in front of her.

Then Cool down was 6 miles, one with Mike, 5 by myself on the course.  Then 5 more when I got home because I was worried about a pain in my achilles tendon, it warmed up so I was fine.

Great race! You forgot to say that you improved a whole minute in 12 days! Thanks for pushing me! I just kept telling myself to stay with Taylor.

You wouldn't happen to know how I placed in our age division would you? I'd guess 7-12th, but I sort of forgot to look at the results other than to see how much I beat the people I outkicked by... heh...
